Founder and head craftsman Ryan Laplante builds the cabinets, and lead designer Kevin Laplante plans the layout. One family shop takes your kitchen from first sketch to final install.

A Maine cabinet shop, not a showroom

Laplante Cabinetry has made custom kitchen cabinetry in Gray, ME since 2015. It is a family-owned and operated shop, and the founder is the person who builds your cabinets.

More than 50 projects later, every job still starts with a conversation about how you cook, store things and gather in the room.

Not every kitchen needs a full tear-out. Some clients get refinished cabinets, new doors and hardware, or modified boxes that fit a new appliance.

Others want a complete custom kitchen with a new island and layout. Recent Google reviewers say Ryan's craftsmanship shows in every single detail of the build.

Custom Kitchen Design

Lead designer Kevin Laplante plans each kitchen around how your family uses it, in modern, traditional or contemporary styles. The work covers functional layout planning, space optimization, appliance integration and material selection, so the design fits both your room and your routine.

Bespoke Cabinetry

Cabinets are crafted with precision and close attention to detail, then installed by the same team. Islands can carry special touches, such as a reclaimed wood end panel or a built-in microwave drawer, so the finished kitchen looks made for the house it is in.

Kitchen Remodeling and Updates

Remodels range from cabinet refinishing, through partner Eastern Finish, to new doors and hardware, cabinet modifications and complete custom kitchens. One project turned dated orange oak cabinets into a white kitchen with a granite-topped island.

Custom Built-ins

The shop also builds custom furniture and built-in pieces for kitchens and living spaces, such as a painted built-in cabinet with open shelves. Each piece is made to match the cabinetry and trim already in your home.

Why work with a family cabinet shop

01

The owner builds it

Ryan Laplante is the founder and head craftsman. Google reviewer Bruce M. calls him the head craftsman and owner who does exceptional design and work, so you deal with the builder directly.

02

Design and build in one family

Kevin Laplante leads design while Ryan leads the build. Plans are drawn by people who know how the cabinets will actually be made and installed, which keeps the finished kitchen true to the drawing.

03

Options short of a tear-out

If your boxes are sound, refinishing, new doors and hardware, or cabinet modifications can refresh the room. If they are not, the shop builds a complete custom kitchen instead.

Questions about custom kitchen cabinetry in Gray, ME

Who actually builds my cabinets?

Ryan Laplante, the founder and head craftsman. Laplante Cabinetry is family owned and operated, and Ryan leads the build while Kevin Laplante leads design. Google reviewers name Ryan directly, and one calls him the head craftsman and owner who does exceptional design and work.

Can you update my kitchen without replacing every cabinet?

Often, yes. Remodels range from refinishing, offered with partner Eastern Finish, to new doors and hardware and modifications to your existing cabinets. If your cabinet boxes are not worth saving or the layout needs to change, the shop designs and builds a complete custom kitchen instead.

What does the design work include?

Kevin Laplante plans the layout so the kitchen flows well, fits your appliances and makes the most of the space, whether the room is compact or large. Material selection and finishing touches are part of the plan, and styles range from modern to traditional and contemporary.

Do you build anything besides kitchens?

Yes. Along with kitchens, the shop builds custom built-ins and furniture pieces made to match your kitchen and living spaces, such as painted built-in cabinets with open shelving. Ask about a built-in when you plan your kitchen so the woodwork and finish match from room to room.

What happens after the cabinets are installed?

The company manages each project from initial planning to final installation and lists post-installation support among its services. If something needs attention after you move back into your kitchen, call 207-513-8440 and talk with the family that built it rather than a call center.
